The basic idea and shape of the chair was conceived on a hot summer afternoon – while the kids were playing in the shallow water on the beach, Wegner was digging himself into the sand building a comfortable chair to enjoy the holidays.

Inspired by ERIC PFEIFFER USA. Pfeiffer’s reductive approach relies on beauty, material honesty and necessity. His philosophy: Simplicity and sustainability guides a process that creates useful and essential forms for the objects in our lives. It is this pure design ethos, coupled with a casual west coast sensibility that results in timeless objects rooted in a deep understanding of usability and manufacturing.
The Scando Coffee Table Homage is a tribute to him.
