The basic idea and shape of the chair was conceived on a hot summer afternoon – while the kids were playing in the shallow water on the beach, Wegner was digging himself into the sand building a comfortable chair to enjoy the holidays.

Inspired by PREBEN FABRICIUS & JØRGEN KASTHOLM DENMARK (1931-1984; 1931-2007) Inspired by functionalism and the resoluteness of Scandinavian design, which had a considerable influence on the aesthetics of the sixties, interior designers Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm devoted themselves to optimising shape, material and ergonomics. Their main concern was to clearly state the function of an aesthetic form. This principle resulted in lasting symbols of the modern age.
The FK High Back Bucket Chair Homage is a tribute to him.
