The basic idea and shape of the chair was conceived on a hot summer afternoon – while the kids were playing in the shallow water on the beach, Wegner was digging himself into the sand building a comfortable chair to enjoy the holidays.

Inspired by DIMITRI DE VOCHT His design ethos is centered around the idea of creating distinctive products with a playful use of materials that can reach a wide audience. Dimitri gets his experience out of life itself, his travels around the world and his love for simpleness and natural materials. He has a natural intuition to experiment with materials like wood, metal, leather and marble. For Dimitri design should be about honest and natural materials where the characteristics where the characteristics and imperfections of the materials ae an added value for the design.
The William Sofa Homage is a tribute to him.
