RARE

One more rare chair by Børge Mogensen. In 1950 he designed the Hunting Chair for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild’s autumn exhibition, whose theme that year was ‘The Shooting Lodge.

MASCULINE

The frame is made of oak while the seat and back are made of butt leather with adjustable straps-a rustic and masculine combination that Mogensen later produced in other pieces like the Spanish Chair.

Designer

Inspired by BØRGE MOGENSEN DENMARK (April 13, 1914 – October 5, 1972) Functional is the word which best describes Børge Mogensen’s design. The majority of his furniture was designed with industrial production in mind and is characterized by strong and simple lines. His true genius is to be found in his almost scientific analysis of the functionality of a piece of furniture. During his years at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts the young Børge Mogensen developed a close partnership with his mentor Kaare Klint and subsequently also assumed Klint’s approach to simple and functional furniture design.

This product is a tribute to him.
