Crafted by Helge Sibast in 1953, thanks to its superior quality and iconic style, the dining chair soon found its way into homes around the world. The chair was relaunched as a critical design classic from the Danish Modern movement by the fourth generation of the Sibast family and as a signature style from Sibast Furniture.

ICONIC

The iconic Y-shaped legs of the chair, floating seat and molded backrest require high-quality craftsmanship to attain the unique expression. In the workshop, Helge Sibast perfected the bold and complex concept of the iconic chair and has an exquisite elegance that transcends time and place. A true classic style to cherish and to pass on to centuries to come.

Designer

Inspired by HELGE SIBAST Helge Sibast grew up and was apprenticed by his fathers. He has worked hard, committed and soon learned high quality craftsmanship skills. He took over the business from his fathers and started to expand. He figured out just a new way of doing craftsmanship. He had a natural sense to evaluate wood as a material, and started to develop his own designs. He had built a furniture factory by the 1950’s and 60’s that employed over 120 craftsmen making some of the finest furniture in Danish design history. They managed to sell the furniture around the world.
