The Serie 7 chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen got an upgrade for its 60th anniversary! Designed in 1955 by Arne Jacobsen, Fritz Hansen presents since 2015 in curated colors by artist Tal R.
LACQUERED OR COLORED CHAIR
The compression-molded Series 7 seat shells are available as a monochrome version in two different finishes. Firstly, with a glazed seat shell made of ash wood, and secondly, as a lacquered model. The difference: in the colored version, the typical and individual wood grain of the seat shell remains visible. This emphasizes the natural look and organic silhouette of the Series 7. The lacquered models, on the other hand, stand out with a silky and uniform seat shell. In this version, the wood grain is covered by a soft layer of paint.
WOODEN SEAT SHELL FOR A NATURAL APPEARANCE
The elegantly curved seat consists of moulded veneer. The seat is available in ten different types of wood altogether, whereas the core veneer is always made from beech. The individual grains of the wood emphasise the organic shape of the seat shell, which gives the chair a timeless, natural look.

Designer
Inspired by ARNE JACOBSEN DENMARK (February 11, 1902 – March 24, 1971) Influenced by Le Corbusier, Gunnar Asplund and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Jacobsen embraced a functionalist approach from the outset. He was among the first to introduce modernist ideas to Denmark and create industrial furniture that built upon on its craft-based design heritage. Jacobsen’s work remains appealing and fresh today, combining free-form sculptural shapes with the traditional attributes of Scandinavian design, material and structural integrity.
