WORK OF ART
In his art, Bertoia experimented with open forms and metalwork, and this chair is an extension of that work. “If you look at the chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture,” said Bertoia. ”Space passes through them.”
INNOVATIVE
Bertoia experimented with metal until arising at the wire grid concept could be shaped at will. He not only created the airy design of the chair but also devised the production molds used for mass manufacture.

Designer
Inspired by HARRY BERTOIA ITALY (March 10, 1915 – November 6, 1978) As a sculptor, Bertoia created abstract freestanding metal works, some of which resonated with sound when touched or had moving elements that chimed in the wind. All of his work bears the hallmarks of a highly skilled and imaginative sculptor, as well as an inventive designer, deeply engaged with the relationship between form and space.
The Harry Bertoia Style Diamond Chair is a tribute to him.
