The basic idea and shape of the chair was conceived on a hot summer afternoon – while the kids were playing in the shallow water on the beach, Wegner was digging himself into the sand building a comfortable chair to enjoy the holidays.

Inspired by NISSEN AND GEHL The work of Søren Nissen and Ebbe Gehl is characterised by a commitment to sustainability centred on the maxim “nothing is less ecological than a product with a short shelf-life”. Best known designs from them are the “Danish Modern Collection” which is a complete range of furniture for all the rooms in a home.
